Kal Ho Naa Ho English There May Or May Not Be A Tomorrow, abbreviated as KHNH, is a 2003 Indian romantic comedydrama film, directed by debutante director Nikhil Advani. The film was written by Niranjan Iyengar and Karan Johar and produced by Yash Johar and Karan Johar under the Dharma Productions banner. The music of the film was composed by ShankarEhsaanLoy, with lyrics written by Javed Akhtar.

Kal Ho Naa Ho is the story of Naina Catherine Kapur, ayear old pessimistic MBA student who lives with her family consisting of her widowed mom, Jenifer Jenny Kapur, who runs a small restaurant in New York that isnt doing so well. Naina hasyounger siblings Gia, who was adopted and Shiv, Nainas disabled younger brother. Jennys motherinlaw, Lajjo, is cold towards Jenny and Gia, as she believes Gias adoption is what led her son to commit suicide. Naina hasbest friends Rohit who attends MBA with her and Jaswinder Sweetu Kapoor, her next door neighbour. Nainas life is dull until Aman Mathur moves in with his mother next door. His bubbly attitude and fun loving ways convince Naina to lose her glasses, smile, have fun and party. Naina falls for Aman and Rohit for Naina. However, when Naina goes to tell Aman, she finds he is married to Priya, who fled to New York after an argument. Heartbroken Naina leaves. It is now revealed Aman isnt married, and Priya isnt his wife but his doctor. Aman is a terminallyill patient, suffering from a fatal cardiac disease, and his chances of surviving are low, as he needs a transplant. The rest of the story is how Aman gets Rohit and Naina together before he dies. The concept of the film was loving someone enough to let them go and be free of sharing your sorrows. Aman was dying, there was no hope for him, so he lies to Naina about being married, so that she never realises that he also loved her just as much as she loved him. If he told her of his true condition, she, who was already quite depressed about the state of her family wouldve been even more heartbroken than she was finding he was married. Sacrifice is when Aman, rather than making sure Naina stays single, does his best to help Rohit, who is in love with her, win her over.
